7/24/2008 Don't expect much... :(Hi...sorry that I neglected the blog for five months....wow, whaddaya know, the political landscape in Malaysia changed a lot, and I have a job! 3/2/2008 Again I forsaked this place!Oh man, more than a month! Sorry I truly forgot this blog existed at all! A lot had happened since I last posted, e.g. Chinese New Year, my red envelope collection >RM100 1/21/2008 Sorry for the hiatus, something's up with the PCGAWRSH! After all the woes my PC has had in its 2nd year of life, I did not have the heart to tend this blog. Apparently as my sister's boyfriend pointed out, the PC was stripped of a crucial system file which was apparently rarely touched and when really needed but not found, the machine crashed. He also advised me not to use the disk cleaner utility too often as it might not appreciate the importance of some rarely-used files.
Now the problem's solved, and check out the new look:
No, I did not buy a Mac or install a MacOS: it's a Mac-themed skin which Mac-ified the look of almost all Windows apps, including the MS Office fonts into Office mac ones. Should I not tend the blog on time for the festivities, I wish you a prosperous squeaky-clean new year.
On another note...
Faizal, Faizal...look what you've done. Not only now it's difficult to sustain voting results from the place you call yourself alumni of, but also ... 8TV's ambition to outpace Star World on American Idol is quashed for half of the season. Besides, the striptease is so....80'S! 1/3/2008 Back to rehab! For starters, 2008 BABY!
Ok, for my much-delayed review on Amy Winehouse's Back to Black. My job prospects are another matter, I'll discuss that after I finish the review.
Judging from this album, this English-Jewish crooner sounds rather like a 60s-70s African-American semi-powerhouse which I feel is kinda refreshing but "un-British". Her music has been described as soul, R&B, vocal jazz, and doo-wop (thus the 'old-old-skool' feel). Other than that, Amy sang with expression of her troubles. No rehab? Fine. For this, among others like the f-word in Me & Mr Jones, the album has been labelled "Parental Advisory" in the States. Gosh, the local recording industry authorities should follow suit; malu tau if young kids hear this.
About my job — I've a 2-year-old disease on my foot soles which needs to be put under control before I can start job-seeking. My mom thinks being bugged by the peeling and cuts on the soles has affected how I present myself in two attempts. Sigh, I wanna make monay! 12/25/2007 Shrek the halls with boughs of hollyMERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY 2008!
Looking forward to more readers. Perhaps I'd be bold to move out of this place.
BTW, One in a Million Top 12 performances sucked. (yes, it's BACK) Before you say anything... it's mainly cos of the sound system. Siti Sarah was the best, and Iz was fine too, but my attention is on Shila who reminded me of a certain US country music ex-teen prodigy.
I wanna watch Shrek the Halls on Malaysian TV, exactly on 12/25! |
